New Delhi, August 17

The former minister of Delhi government, Kapil Mishra, and Aam Aadmi Party national spokesperson and women’s wing president Richa Pandey joined BJP today.

Delhi Pradesh in-charge Shyam Jaju said Mishra didn’t side with Kejriwal, when he had asked the saffron party for proof of surgical strike. While he was in AAP, Mishra always opposed the anti-people policies of Kejriwal. AAP was no longer the favorite party among the people of Delhi and instead they saw BJP as an alternative, he said.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari opined that Mishra’s conviction in the policies of the BJP would help benefit the people of the nation. He would compensate for his time spent with AAP by serving the country and following the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The purpose for which AAP was formed was no more valid and hence people working for the party were feeling suffocated, he said.

He said Kejriwal was misleading the people of Delhi by promising free ride for women in DTC buses, whereas the chief of AAP’s women wing Richa Pandey debunked his pro-women measures “Six years ago, I joined politics to serve India leaving all things behind but I did not find commitment in the party to serve the country. There is no freedom of expression in this party, but today I feel that I have found the alternative politics for which I joined politics. We will seriously work for the formation of BJP government in Delhi”.

On joining the BJP, Mishra became emotional and said he was joining the party because Kejriwal was like a “dacoit” now. Also, he could now openly raise slogans such as Bharat Mata Ki Jai; fight against corruption; speak against Tukde-tukde gang; and fight against negative politics in Delhi, said Mishra.
